The Lake Tahoe Summer Music Festival is a popular annual tradition that enriches the audience with a wide range of musical compositions, set in the beautiful mountain environment that is Lake Tahoe.
Historically, Edgar Braun , a conductor of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, founded the festival in year 1983. Over the years, the celebration of the Festival has expanded, especially with the natural flair of the local community to the ideals of music, enough to secure their commitment and dedication towards sustaining the tradition throughout many generations.
At present, Lake Tahoe Summer Music Festival is celebrated every summer. This much awaited concert series usually starts in July and lasts until Labor Day. The players and producers are never discriminating on certain genres as they cater to an extensive range of music varieties, including pop, classical, jazz and blues.
Every year, the concerts are hosted in different venues, with the likes of Granlibakken Resort , Valhalla , Homewood and Squaw Valley . Wherever the location may be, a beautiful setting to accompany the beautiful music is always assured to the audience. Admission is for without charge and this festival never fails to attract a large crowd, especially families and their teens and kids.
Up until now, the tradition of beautiful music is as popular as before in Lake Tahoe. The Lake Tahoe Music Festival has always been the largest summer cultural event for the benefit of local communities. It is certainly a reputable attraction throughout the West. In its contemporary form, the Festival has eight concerts, three scenic venues, and over 10,000 expected attendees.
