Lake Tahoe is situated along the border of California and Nevada bordered by the Sierra Nevada on the west and the Carson Range on the east. It can be roughly estimated that Lake Tahoe is two thirds within the California region and a third within Nevada. On the east, Lake Tahoe Basin s floor is 92 feet below the surface of Carson Valley .
Lake Tahoe is subdivided in the following communities: Carson City, North Lake, Truckee, Carson Valley, South Lake, West Lake.
Carson City
Carson City is Nevada s Small Town Capital. Located in the Eagle Valley , bald eagles as well as some wild horses visit occasionally to the community s delight.
